What is a Premises ID?
A Premises ID is a special number given by Southern California Edison (SCE) for certain situations.
If I remove equipment or add to my existing generating facility and my system capacity changes, do I need to notify SCE?

FAQ Answer
Yes. If your modification increases or decreases your generating facility’s original net output capacity, you will need to notify SCE detailing the system changes.
- Modifications that require a completed Form 14-987 emailed to Customer.Generation@sce.com (to update grid records, system analysis and regulatory compliance reports), but do not require a new interconnection application or SCE approval include:
- Qualified like-for-like equipment replacement, where the system output does not exceed what was originally approved by SCE.
- Modifications with controls limiting the system’s output to 10% of the original net output capacity or 100 kW (whichever is less).
- Any changes that decrease the system size.
Note: Decreasing your system size will not affect your current tariff eligibility.
- Modifications that require a new interconnection application and SCE approval include:
- Any changes increasing the system’s output by more than 10% of the original net output capacity or 100 kW (whichever is less).
- Removal of equipment under a Rule 21 multi-tariff agreement.
