The law applies to new residential housing construction in California that requires utility service connections.
SB 1210 limits certain utility service connection charges for new housing construction. Public utilities and special districts cannot impose connection, capacity, or similar charges for electrical, gas, water, or sewer services that exceed the building permit valuation of the housing unit.
