FAQ Answer

All residential customers may pay less for each kilowatt-hour (kWh) of electricity that they use. This rate reduction per kWh will lower the cost of using energy and help accelerate the state’s transition to 100% clean electricity.

FAQ Answer

In June 2022, the California Legislature passed Assembly Bill (AB) 205, mandating that the California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC) and electric utilities change the way residential customers’ electric bills are structured. The intent of AB 205 is to encourage electrification and make electric rates more affordable.

FAQ Answer

Beginning in November 2025, electricity bills will be restructured for residential customers. The electric delivery section of the bill will include a Base Services Charge as a separate line item, replacing the current Basic Charge. At the same time, the cost you pay for each kilowatt-hour (kWh) of electricity may decrease compared to what you paid in October.

FAQ Answer

Important: Beginning April 1, 2024, SCE customers on a TOU (Time of Use) or RTP (Real Time Pricing) rate will have a 16-digit RIN (Rate Identification Number) QR code displayed on their bill. The QR code will allow devices you select to view the price you are paying for energy, helping you better manage your energy usage. The QR code should only be scanned while using a smart device setup app, which is not available today for most devices. Contact your smart device manufacturer to confirm if your device can use the RIN QR code for programming.
