Our general service rates for businesses are based on your business’ monthly energy usage.

Rates for large businesses (energy usage of >500 kW/month)

  • Mandatory for accounts >500kW
  • Time-Of-Use (TOU) periods vary by time of day, day of the week, and season. As a result, TOU energy charges will vary
  • Interval Meter Required
  • Available for customers with charging demands exceeding 500 kW
  • You can reduce your charging costs by charging between 9 p.m. and 4 p.m. (next day)
  • Available to those with monthly demands (aggregated) that reach or exceed 200 kW
  • You must choose a Firm Service Level (FSL) that reflects the amount of electricity you will need to meet operational requirements during a TOU-BIP event
  • You must also choose a participation option, which is the amount of time (15 or 30 minutes) you need to respond to a TOU-BIP event
  • You must commit to reducing at least 15% of maximum demand but no less than 100 kW during TOU-BIP events
  • Hourly electricity prices for generation that vary based on the time of day, season, and temperature.
  • You may benefit from this plan if you have the flexibility to shift or reduce energy usage based on temperature-driven pricing variations.
  • This rate has both Time-Related Demand and Facilities-Related Demand charges.
  • For maritime customers located in the Port of Long Beach
  • Options available are dependant on the service voltage
  • Connected load serves shipping, stevedoring, or container activities
  • Offers a Contribution to Margin discount and lower cost options for certain types of New Load

Seasonal incentive opportunities for large businesses

  • Demand Response program that can be utilized to reduce summer season electricity bills
  • A/C may be turned off: 30%, 50%, or 100% of the time out of each half-hour. Up to 6 hours per event for a maximum of 180 hours total per year.
  • Incentives are earned from June 1 to October 1
  • CPP is an optional rate that provides four months of summer season bill credits in exchange for paying higher electricity prices during 12 to 15 annual CPP events.
  • When called, CPP events are from 4 p.m. – 9 p.m. on any day of the week, usually occurring on the hottest summer days. By reducing electricity use during CPP events, you can minimize these higher prices. Plus, your business will earn credits on your electricity bills during the summer season when your bills are typically the highest.
