Correction to SCE Public Participation Hearings (PPHs) Venue Information in Long Beach
You may have previously seen a notice in your bill that Public Participation Hearings (PPHs) were occurring in the 2025 General Rate Case for Southern California Edison (SCE).  This is a proceeding before the California Public Utilities Commission and is referred to by case number A.23-05-010.  The information contained in the notice is correct, except the notice incorrectly stated that the date for the in-person PPHs in Long Beach is March 20, 2024.  The correct date for those in-person PPHs is April 10, 2024.

The corrected information for the in-person PPHs in Long Beach is as follows: 

Date: Wednesday, April 10, 2024 
Time: 2:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m.
Location: Recreation Park Community Center, 4900 E. 7th St., Long Beach, CA 90804.

Customers who reside in high fire risk areas and are currently enrolled in our Medical Baseline Allowance program, and who require the regular use of electrically powered medical equipment or another qualifying medical device, are eligible for the Critical Care Backup Battery program.

How does the Critical Care Backup Battery program work?

Our contractor will speak with you over the telephone to verify your eligibility, determine the appropriate battery size for your current medical devices, and arrange an appointment for delivery. Temporary backup power can be provided to devices such as a nebulizer, motorized wheelchair charger, respirator, ventilator, or other medical devices. (See a list of qualified medical devices.) Battery delivery and setup, including training in the use of the battery, are provided at no cost.

Additional program restrictions and limitations may apply. Services may not be available in all areas. Services are offered on a first-come, first-served basis until funding is expended or the program is discontinued. The Program may be modified or terminated without prior notice. California consumers are not obligated to purchase any full fee service or other services not funded by this program. This program is available to both homeowners and renters. Renters may be required to obtain the property owner’s written permission before services are delivered.
