Wildfire Assistance
If you are impacted by a recent wildfire and in need of assistance, please visit our Disaster Support page. For timely and accurate wildfire status updates and safety resources, please visit the Assistance Center page.
Our response to COVID-19
We’ve made some changes due to COVID-19, including suspending service disconnections for residential and small business customers for nonpayment and only continuing critical work needed to protect public safety and reduce the risk of wildfires. If you have recently lost your job, even if you are receiving unemployment benefits, you may qualify for a reduced energy rate through our CARE or FERA programs. Kern River No. 3 Hydroelectric Project (FERC No. 2290)

Kern River No. 3 Powerhouse

Southern California Edison is beginning the relicensing process for the Kern River No. 3 Hydroelectric Project. Please use this page to find out how to get involved and stay up to date.

Upcoming Meeting Information:

Technical Working Groups (TWGs)

The TWG process is open to all interested parties including public agencies, Native American tribes, and not-for-profit organizations, as well as individuals. Participants are expected to make a significant time commitment to prepare for and attend meetings, review documents, and provide technical input to SCE and its consultants on methods, analysis, and interpretation in a timely fashion. In light of this time commitment, it is expected that the TWG process will attract a relatively small number of subject matter experts. SCE will also support a concurrent but separate outreach effort to provide information about the relicensing to the interested public as well as stakeholders electing not to participate in the TWG process via electronic communication and updates to the Project website.

All meetings will be held virtually via Microsoft Teams. Meeting log-in, agendas, and other relevant materials will be posted on this website prior to the meeting.

  • Aquatic TWG: October 29, 2020 (9:30 am - 12 pm PST)
  • Recreation/Land TWG: October 29, 2020 (1:30 pm - 4 pm PST)
  • Terrestrial/Botanical TWG: November 5, 2020 (9:00 am - 12 pm PST)
  • Cultural/Tribal TWG: November 12, 2020 (9:30 am - 12 pm PST)
