The Energy Education Center - Irwindale features interactive displays and demos to help visitors make better energy decisions and reduce their carbon footprint. It includes the Smart Energy Experience®, a full-scale demo home showcasing smart grid technologies, home energy management systems, solar power, and EV charging infrastructure. The Heat Pump Water Heater (HPWH) Demand Response Lab demonstrates energy-saving heat pump water heaters, which are more efficient than gas and standard electric water heaters.
Additionally, the center offers a Tool Lending Library with over 400 tools for free borrowing to test, troubleshoot, or analyze equipment usage, and provides dozens of online classes and workshops available 24/7 on various energy topics.
