We partner with the California Foundation for Independent Living Centers (CFILC) to support customers with disabilities, and other access and functional needs (AFN) through the Disability Disaster Access and Resources (DDAR) Program. DDAR will provide support to customers with disabilities or other AFN before, during and after a PSPS outage.

Program Benefits
- Creating emergency plans during workshops or one-on-one
- Assistance signing up for SCE programs, including Medical Baseline Allowance and Critical Care Backup Battery
- Obtaining Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) accessible transportation and hotel stays
- Portable backup batteries
- Vouchers for food or fuel (i.e., propane for backup generators)
Program Eligibility
- Live in a Tier 2 or Tier 3 High Fire Risk Area (please see this map for high fire risk areas in shaded regions
).
- Use an electrically powered medical device or assistive technology
- Have a disability or chronic condition
- Rely on electricity to live independently
How to apply
To apply for DDAR, contact a participating Disability Disaster Access & Resources Center (DDARC) below or CFILC. Application is linked here. The CFILC's Disability Disaster Advisory Committee will decide who qualifies for resources. Medical needs and income will be considered. A doctor is not needed to verify disability or chronic condition.
