Rate Plans for Renewable Generation Systems

The Solar Billing Plan is available to customers who install an eligible renewable generating system, such as solar or wind. If you generate more electricity than you use, the excess will flow back to the grid, and you will be compensated for energy exported to the grid based on a calculated hourly electricity price. These hourly prices will be derived from the latest CPUC approved Avoided Cost Calculator and will vary by month, weekday, and weekend.

The Solar Billing Plan does not apply to Net Energy Metering (NEM) Aggregation or Virtual Net Metering (VNM) projects. VNM provides an energy credit from the power generated by an approved renewable energy system serving a multi-unit facility. Please note, customers who submit a valid Interconnection Request under NEM Aggregation or VNM programs after April 14, 2023, will have a 9-year legacy period.
