Small Site Rebate
We can help bring your properties into the EV future by making EV charging equipment more affordable. Multi-family and commercial property sites may qualify for a rebate for the purchase, construction, and installation of up to four EV charging station ports. The program aims to offset the costs associated with purchasing and installing qualifying EV charging equipment.
Program Overview 
Your properties require the right solutions to meet your needs and goals. The Small Site Rebate Program is available to multi-family and commercial properties who choose to purchase and install up to four EV charging station ports. The program offers a rebate to eligible participants to offset some or all the cost of buying and installing approved EV charging stations.
How It Works
The Small Site Rebate program offers savings for multi-family and commercial properties. The program provides a rebate of up to $10,000 per port for qualified sites installing up to four EV charging ports. SCE will perform all the necessary utility-side of the meter infrastructure work. The rebate is intended to help offset the costs associated with the design, procurement, installation, and maintenance of qualifying charging equipment. Any Level 2 (L2) EV charging equipment selected for installation must be listed on SCE’s Approved Product List.
Installing Charging Equipment
After a submitted application is approved, the participant can move forward with purchasing and designing the SCE-approved charging equipment. After the charging stations have been activated and the participant submits the required documentation, SCE issues the rebate. The rebate amount will not exceed the actual costs incurred by the participant.
Program Participation Requirements
We are here to help multi-family housing and commercial property owners and developers navigate the participation requirements for our Small Site Rebate programs. The Charge Ready Small Site Rebate Program will be offered until funds have been fully subscribed.
Select requirements include:
- The installation of up to four EV charging station ports.
- Participants must operate and maintain the EV charging equipment for a 10-year duration.
- Required enrollment in SCE’s Demand Response program.
- Participants must ensure the charging equipment includes a network service and that usage and pricing information will be shared with SCE.

Non-residential SCE customers are eligible to participate in the Small Site Rebate Program. This program offers rebates for the purchase and installation of up to four Level 2 (L2) charging station ports. All plug-in EVs are compatible with L1 charging that operates from standard 120-Volt outlets. L1 takes longer to charge—around five miles of range for every hour of charging.
L2 requires a professionally installed charging station that can be hard-wired, or a cord set compatible with a 208/240-volt outlet. L2 stations can provide 26 or more miles of driving range per hour of charge. Charging at this level is faster, making it a versatile choice for many properties.
