How do I know which option is best for me, Start Service or Transfer?
If you are moving to a new location within our service area, you can transfer your current service or start a new service depending on your situation.
You can complete all requests online quickly and easily. Requests made on sce.com can be future-dated and edited online. No need to call—just follow the steps for your situation.
- Start Service: Select this if you’re beginning service at a new address, changing the account holder, or adding a second address. Example: You’re moving into a new home, or your roommate wants to put the account in their name.
- Transfer Service: Select this if you’re moving within the SCE’s service territory and your current account remains active at the new address, while the old address is deactivated. Example: You’re relocating from one apartment to another.
Review the scenarios below to better understand which option applies to you:
- If you have current service with SCE
- Are you moving to a new address within our service area? Select Transfer Service
- Do you want to keep your current service active at your old address? Select Start Service
- Is someone else taking over your current account? Select Start Service
- If you are a new customer to SCE, Select Start Service
