Southern California Edison (SCE) will remove a transmission line that spans approximately ten miles in the area. This line is not currently used to deliver electricity to customers. Based on long-term system studies, SCE has determined that there is a low likelihood that this line will be needed in the future, and existing infrastructure is well-equipped to support future electricity demand.

Project Activities

Electrical crews will safely remove overhead wires and related hardware that are no longer in use.
Poles and towers will be carefully dismantled. Any underground components and surrounding vegetation will be responsibly managed. Temporary access routes and helicopter landing zones may be established to support safe and efficient activities.

Limited road closures will be used to ensure public and employee safety during work along: Foothill Rd

Work is planned to begin late-Jan. 2026.
