We provide end-to-end EV charging installation for participants of the Charge Ready Turn-Key Installation. Turn-Key Installation is exclusively available to multi-family housing property sites located in top quartile Disadvantaged Communities (DACs) as defined by CalEPA. The Turn-Key Installation program is not currently accepting applications. For all other Charge Ready program options, the participant is responsible for selection, purchase, and installation of the charging equipment.
All charging equipment installed under the Charging Infrastructure and Rebate, Small Site Rebate, and New Construction Rebate programs must be selected from SCE’s Approved Product List (APL). Rebates for these programs are issued after approved applicants complete the successful installation of the EV charging stations and submit the required documentation.
The details of EV charging station ownership vary between Charge Ready programs and the choices of the participants. Charging Infrastructure and Rebate, DCFC Rebate, Small Site Rebate, and New Construction Rebate Program participants all retain direct ownership and operation of installed EV charging stations.
With Turn-Key Installation SCE will own, operate, and maintain the installed EV charging stations. This program is only available to multi-family properties in top quartile disadvantaged communities DACs as defined by CalEPA.
The Charge Ready Program requirements require participants to purchase their EV charging station equipment after their application has been approved by SCE. Equipment purchase date should be post application approval date. If you’ve already purchased EV charging station equipment to install on your property, you will not qualify to participate in the Charge Ready programs. Additionally, only equipment that meets certain functional, technical, and safety requirements qualify for use under the program’s guidelines. Only equipment approved by SCE and published on our Approved Product List (APL) qualifies for installation and rebate.
In addition to the equipment itself, your property must meet the specific prerequisites depending on the specific Charge Ready program.
If your property is eligible for any of the Charge Ready programs, and you would like further assistance, please contact us at chargeready@sce.com. One of our team members will reach out to discuss your plans and help to determine your next steps.
Yes. With one exception discussed below, EV charging equipment installed as part of our Charge Ready programs is owned and operated by the site host participant. Within the Charge Ready Turn-Key Installation program, SCE purchases and maintains the EV charging stations. Participants will still be able to set charging station pricing and are responsible for paying the related monthly energy costs.
