What is a Time-Of-Use (TOU) business rate plan?

Our Time-Of-Use (TOU) rate plans are part of a statewide initiative designed to keep the electric grid reliable—even when energy resources are in high demand.

All TOU rate plans feature energy charges that vary based on the time of day, the day of the week, and the season. Many rate plans also include demand charges that are based on the maximum amount of electricity your business uses at once and during certain times of the day.

Business Time Of-Use Rate Plans

How does a Time-Of-Use (TOU) rate plan work?

All TOU rate plans are based on the time of day, day of the week, and the season. By taking advantage of lower rates during off-peak and super off-peak periods, you can avoid higher weekday rates when energy resources are in demand. We offer different types of TOU rate plans based on your business operations. The following illustration shows the standard business TOU periods.
