Changes in the Display of Historical Usage for SCE Customers who Transition to Solar Billing Plan (SBP)

A guide to understand the temporary changes in how your historical usage is shown on sce.com

What are the changes?

If you are a SCE customer who recently transitioned to Solar Billing Plan (SBP), you may notice some changes in how your historical usage is displayed on sce.com. Depending on whether you are a Net Energy Metering (NEM) customer or not, the changes may vary.

  • If you are a NEM customer, you may see your historical usage displayed as two separate columns or values: generation and consumption, instead of one NET value. Generation is the amount of energy your solar system produced, and consumption is the amount of energy you used from the grid. This change does not impact how you were billed for prior months. This is a temporary display change for historical usage kWh, and SCE is working to correct the display of this information.
  • If you are not a NEM customer, and have transitioned to Solar Billing Plan, you may see your historical usage displayed as two separate columns or values: generation and consumption, even though generation values kWh may not be applicable to your historical or billed usage. This change does not impact your billed costs. SCE is working to reconcile the display of your historical usage as previously viewed prior to moving to Solar Billing Plan.
  •

Why are the changes happening?

The changes are happening because SCE is updating its systems to accommodate the new Solar Billing Plan, which is designed to provide more choices and benefits for customers who have solar or are interested in going solar. The new Solar Billing Plan offers different rate options, billing features, and incentives for solar customers. As part of this transition, SCE is also enhancing its online tools and resources to help customers better understand and manage their energy usage and costs.

When will the changes be resolved?

SCE is working to resolve the display issues as soon as possible. In the meantime, you can still access your detailed usage and billing information through your My Account, SCE Mobile App, or by contacting SCE Customer Service at 1-800-655-4555. You can also learn more about the new Solar Billing Plan and its features at https://www.sce.com/residential/generating-your-own-power/solar-billing-plan, or for a non-residential customer, https://www.sce.com/business/generating-your-own-power/solar-billing-plan.

How can I provide feedback or report an issue?

We appreciate your patience and understanding as we work to improve your online experience. If you have any questions, concerns, or feedback, please contact us at 1-800-655-4555. We value your input and want to hear from you.
