How is my Facility identification different from my Service Agreement or Premise identification?
A facility is described in ARB’s Cap-and-Trade Regulation as “any physical property, plant, building, structure, source, or stationary equipment located on one or more contiguous or adjacent properties in actual physical contact or separated solely by a public roadway or other public right-of-way and under common ownership or common control, that emits or may emit any greenhouse gas…” Your utility assigned you a facility ID as part of the attestation/validation process for the CA Industry Assistance Credit. Alternatively, a Service Agreement number designates a particular meter that might belong to that facility.
