Integrated Distributed Energy Resources Partnership Pilot

California Public Utilities Commission (“Commission”) Decision 21-02-006 in Rulemaking 14-10-003 adopted a five-year distributed energy resources distribution deferral tariff pilot called the Partnership Pilot to test a new framework for procuring behind-the-meter distributed energy resources to avoid or defer utility distribution investments. The pilot is seeking to determine whether this approach can address existing challenges in the Distribution Investment Deferral Framework, which the Commission currently uses to procure distributed energy resources to avoid or defer utility distribution investments.
