Project Details
The San Joaquin Cross Valley Loop project will upgrade existing transmission lines to meet increased demand for electricity in the southern San Joaquin Valley.

Project is complete. The San Joaquin Cross Valley Loop Project was energized in November 2014. Restoration activities and biological surveys are currently being conducted.
Project Timeline
- July, 2010: Project approved by CPUC
- 2010 to 2012: Environmental and land surveys for final engineering of project
- March, 2012: Construction of laydown yards
- July, 2012 : Start of site preparation in existing north-south transmission corridor
- August, 2012:Start demolition of existing towers and rebuild as double circuit 220 kV line
- Ongoing demolition of existing structures and installation of new structures in the existing (North-South) transmission corridor.
- 2nd Quarter 2013: anticipate installation of new structures in the new (East-West) transmission corridor
