Thomas Fire

As of 8:00 a.m., 128 customers remain without power due to the Thomas fire. 

  • Due to progress in restoring service, we are now able to provide estimated restoration times. Customers can check the Outage Center on sce.com for estimated restoration times.
  • Since the start of the Thomas fire, we have replaced 746 poles.

Creek, Rye, and Liberty Fires

During the fires we mobilized resources to the impacted areas. SCE crews and field personnel made damage assessments as fire agencies granted us access to fire-damaged areas. The Creek Fire consumed approximately 15,619 acres with 98% containment. The Rye Fire consumed approximately 6,049 acres with 100% containment. The Liberty Fire consumed approximately 300 acres with 100% containment. Distribution and restoration activities are underway for each area to replace destroyed poles.

We're working with customers affected by the wildfires and mudslides by providing payment arrangements as necessary, supporting rebuilding with a dedicated Service Planning team, and more.

Payment Arrangements & Bill Forgiveness

If you're experiencing temporary financial setbacks due to the fires and mudslides, you may be able to defer a payment until a later date. You can set up your payment arrangements online through My Account, or by calling us at 1-800-250-7339.

Additionally, if your home or business is uninhabitable or inoperable – meaning the structure has suffered severe damage from the fires or mudslides – please call us at 1-800-250-7339 to learn about billing and credit forgiveness.

Support for Income-Qualified Customers

In order to assist California Alternative Rates for Energy (CARE) customers affected by the wildfires, we are freezing all income verifications. Any pending verifications for customers in the impacted areas will be cancelled. For information on how to qualify for CARE, please call 1-800-251-3311.

Additionally, the Energy Assistance Fund (EAF) is committed to providing critical support in helping customers pay their electric bill when they need it most. In partnership with the United Way of Greater Los Angeles, we have increased available funds to customers affected by the wildfires.
