Long Beach Update

As of 4:20 a.m. today, we are in the process of reconnecting customers to the network who have been on generator power.

Affected customers may experience temporary outages during this process. We thank customers for their patience as we work to restore them to the network as safely and efficiently as possible. We encourage customers in Long Beach to make every effort to conserve use of electricity as we continue to return the system to its full operational capacity.

We will reopen our distribution center at 925 Locust at 8 a.m. today to distribute food, ice and water. The safety of the public and our crews remain our highest priority. We thank the city of Long Beach for its cooperation and for the safety efforts of first responders in the Long Beach Fire and Police departments. Get the latest update >

Electric Vehicle Tools & Resources

This Way to Rebates & Incentives

You and your electric vehicle may qualify for rebates and incentives from the state and federal government. Check the U.S. Department of Energy’s Database of Federal and State Alternative Fuel Incentives. You can also visit the California Air Resources Board’s DriveClean site to find incentives for electric vehicle drivers in California.

Plug-In Hybrid

The type of electric vehicle illustrated on the left above is the plug-in hybrid model. If you choose a plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV)—including an extended-range electric vehicle—you’ll fuel your vehicle with both electricity and gasoline. Plug-in hybrids typically have a combined electric/gasoline range comparable to many internal combustion engine cars today but travel many more miles per gallon of gasoline and are less expensive to fuel.

Battery Electric Vehicle

The battery electric vehicle illustrated above on the right uses no gasoline at all. Battery electric vehicles are powered 100% by electricity, have shorter driving ranges than most gasoline-powered or plug-in hybrid EVs, but emit fewer pollutants and do not require trips to the gas station.

Charge Fast Or Frequently

The Plug In America Accessory Tracker identifies qualified Electric Vehicle Supply Equipment (EVSE) and chargers to charge a vehicle or a fleet quickly.
