Power Restored to Long Beach Customers

Power has been restored to all customers in Long Beach and they are now reconnected to the electrical network. Generators that had been serving those remaining customers have been disconnected. Our crews will remain working in Long Beach and we will continue to closely monitor network operations.

We thank you for your patience. We encourage customers in Long Beach to make every effort to conserve use of electricity as we continue to return the system to its full operational capacity. The safety of the public and our crews remain our highest priority.

We thank the city of Long Beach for its cooperation and for the especially important safety efforts of first responders in the Long Beach Fire and Police departments. Get the latest update >

Regulatory Process and Stakeholder Engagement

SCE has been engaged for over a decade in the regulatory process to renew its 7 Big Creek System project licenses. This has entailed a significant effort to assess each project's potential impact on the environment, and consult with a broad spectrum of stakeholders to identify measures to mitigate these impacts. SCE developed a collaborative process to work with stakeholders on producing a "package" of agreements that would balance the multiple interests engaged.

Stakeholders participated in the development of Study Plans, the review of study results and the development of potential mitigation measures. This effort culminated in a two year Settlement Agreement negotiation with stakeholders and the signing of a Settlement Agreement in February 2007. This Agreement serves as the basis for regulatory assessment and decision-making and has the support of SCE, FERC, key Agencies and a broad cross-section of public stakeholders.
