Re-MAT Feed-in Tariff (Senate Bill 32)

The Renewable Market Adjusting Tariff (Re-MAT) implements the renewable resource feed-in tariff program pursuant to California Public Utilities Code (PUC) Section 399.20 and California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC) Decisions (D.) 12-05-035, D.13-01-041, and D.13-05-034.

SCE began accepting applications for Re-MAT on October 1, 2013. For more information, or to participate in Re-MAT, please visit the Re-MAT website located at sceremat.accionpower.com/ReMAT/home.asp. Applicants must register with the site to participate in the Re-MAT program. Re-MAT documents, schedule, announcements and other information is available to the public on the site without registering.

PPA's Awarded

As a result of the responses received in the different Program Periods, SCE has executed six Re-MAT PPAs for a total of 8.324 MW. A summary of those projects is attached below as required by D.12-05-035.

 

Re-MAT Queue Information

Re-MAT queue information is publicly disclosed pursuant to the guidelines in the attached WORD document.

 

Re-MAT has three Product Types. As required by the Tariff, SCE will award up to 5 MW of contracts in each Product Type per Program Period.

Below is the queue information that is being made publicly available. Please be aware that the information provided is subject to change. Applicants can receive their exact queue number in any Product Type that has 20 or more active projects by sending a message requesting that information by using the "Messages" tab on the Re-MAT website.

As-Available Peaking: There are currently 10 different applicants with 17 active projects and a total of 29.939 MW of Program Participant Requests in this Product Type. All of the projects in this Product Type are solar. Below, the kW size for each project is listed in queue number order.

Baseload: There are currently less than 5 applicants in this Product Type.

Re-MAT Pricing

Program Period 1: Program Period 1 launched on November 1, 2013 with a price of $89.23/MWh for all 3 Product Types. There were less than 5 different applicants in the As-Available Non-Peaking and in the Baseload Product Types so, for Program Period 2, the price remained the same for both of those Product Types. In the As-Available Peaking Product Type, there were more than 5 different applicants. Projects that accepted the $89.23/MWh price totaled more than 5 MW. Therefore, for Program Period 2, the price for the As-Available Peaking Product Type was reduced to $85.23/MWh.

Program Period 2: Program Period 2 launched on January 2, 2014 with a price of $89.23/MWh for the Baseload Product Type and for the As-Available Non-Peaking Product Type. The price for the As-Available Peaking Product type was $85.23/MWh. There were less than 5 different applicants in the As-Available Non-Peaking and in the Baseload Product Types so, for Program Period 3, the price will remain the same for both of those Product Types. In the As-Available Peaking Product Type, there were more than 5 different applicants. Projects that accepted the $85.23/MWh price totaled more than 5 MW. Therefore, for Program Period 3, the price for the As-Available Peaking Product Type will be reduced to $77.23/MWh.

Program Period 3: Program Period 3 launched on March 3, 2014 with a price of $89.23/MWh for the Baseload Product Type and for the As-Available Non-Peaking Product Type. The price for the As-Available Peaking Product was $77.23/MWh.
