Long Beach Update

As of 4:52 p.m. today, we restored service to all identified customers without service in the Long Beach area. Customers are now receiving electrical service from both electric network or through temporary generators.

Our work crews will continue to make repairs and test the underground network systems, and will start transitioning customers off generators to the electrical network during the evening and morning hours.

When this happens, these customers will experience a short power outage, which could last up to 45 minutes for most. For a couple of customer locations, our representatives will be informing those customers that the outage during the transition period could be longer due to additional operating procedures to safely reconnect them back to the electrical network. These actions are to ensure they are connected back to the network properly and in a safe manner.

Home Upgrade Package – Earn up to $3,000

The Home Upgrade Package will help you to improve your home’s exterior shell in order to maintain a more comfortable warmer or cooler indoor environment.  Eligible base measure improvement options to choose from include attic, wall and floor insulation, duct sealing, furnace and A/C replacements, and more. You can earn rebates of up to $3,000.

Advanced Home Upgrade Package – Earn up to $6,500*

The Advanced Home Upgrade Package goes beyond the basics of improving your home’s exterior shell and typically involves more complex upgrades.  A Participating Contractor conducts a comprehensive energy assessment to identify improvements that can generate maximum energy-savings and comfort for your home. Rebates can be as much as $6,500*.

How To Participate

To become a program-qualified contractor, you need to be a California licensed contractor. Start the process by visiting the Contractor Website for Energy Upgrade California in SCE territory.

*Customers may also be eligible for incentives exceeding $6,500 based on their calculated energy savings.  Work with your participating contractor or rater to determine your upgrade’s incentive.

The Energy Upgrade California® program is still under development statewide and remains subject to change without notice. The program will be offered on a first-come, first-served basis until funding is expended or the program is terminated, whichever occurs first. Participation will be available to Southern California Edison (SCE) and/or Southern California Gas customers only. Eligible detached single family residencies (including all-electric) must have a valid SCE billing address within the SCE service territory. Participation is limited to one incentive payment per household. Incentive checks will be mailed four to six weeks after program completion. SCE’s program is funded by California utility ratepayers and administered by SCE under the auspices of the California Public Utilities Commission.
