As of 1:13 p.m. today, power has been restored to all customers in Long Beach, however some customers who have been on generator power may experience temporary outages as we connect them to the network as safely as possible.

We thank customers for their patience as we work to restore them to the network as safely and efficiently as possible. We encourage customers in Long Beach to make every effort to conserve use of electricity as we continue to return the system to its full operational capacity.

We will continue to distribute food, ice, and water at a distribution center at 925 Locust Avenue until 9 p.m. tonight. The safety of the public and our crews remain our highest priority. • Set your thermostats no lower than 78 degrees
  • Close drapes and blinds to keep out direct sunlight during hot periods
  • Avoid using evaporative coolers or humidifiers at the same time an A/C is running

Water Conservation: Save Energy While Saving Water

As a Southern California resident, you know that saving water is just as important as saving electricity. But few know about the direct connection between saving both. One of the best ways to save energy across the country and in your own home is to use water more efficiently. When you save water, you're helping your water and wastewater providers to save energy and save money, too.

On the hottest summer afternoons, everyone can help prevent blackouts by minimizing energy and water use. Turn off all unnecessary lights, postpone using major appliances, turn your air conditioning thermostat up to 78 degrees or higher, and avoid unnecessary water use like showering and washing your dishes. Avoid wasting water outdoors and check with your local water agency for specific advice on when it is best to water in your area.
