Energy Efficiency Customized Solutions
Customized Solutions are more tailored equipment upgrades that can help you attain deeper savings and higher incentive payments. Incentives are based on how much energy you save over a 12-month period, not to exceed 50% of the total project cost. The energy savings may translate into lower energy bills. While Customized Solutions is available to all business customers, regardless of size or energy use, tailored equipment is most often found in mid- to large-sized businesses. Express and Customized Solutions can also be combined under the scope of a single upgrade project.
Are You Eligible?
Good news: as an SCE customer, your commercial, industrial, agricultural, or non-profit business is automatically eligible for Customized Solutions. Self-generation customers may also qualify for incentives. Get all the details in our Solutions Directory.
The Solution Directory is available on the Online Application Tool or via email at EMSApplication@sce.com for complete terms, conditions and eligibility requirement for incentives.
Resources & Fine Print
Coming soon to you are the 2013-2014 Statewide Energy Efficiency Business Rebates Manual and Statewide Energy Efficiency Customized Business Incentives Manual, visit the Online Application Tool home page.
Incentives are paid on a first-come, first-served basis until the Customized Solutions program expires or until funds are exhausted, whichever occurs first. Equipment purchased with the intent of resale is not eligible for the incentives.
Incentives cannot be paid on energy savings which exceed the energy purchased from SCE during the prior 12 months. Non-SCE supply, such as cogeneration or deliveries from another commodity supplier, does not qualify as usage from SCE (with the exception of Direct Access customers or customers paying departing load fees for which SCE collects PPP surcharges).
Incentives are based on two factors:
1. The energy savings resulting from the project, as measured above and beyond baseline energy performance, which includes state-mandated codes, federal-mandated codes, industry-accepted performance standards, or other baseline energy performance standards as determined by SCE.
2. The amount of permanent DEER peak demand reduction resulting from the project. For more information on DEER peak demand reduction, refer to the 2012 Statewide Customized Offering Procedures Manual for Business.
