Long Beach Update

Crews have restored power to all but 1,000 customers affected by the outage in Long Beach. We continue to work as safely and as quickly as possible to restore power to all customers. The safety of the public and our crews remains our highest priority. We thank the city of Long Beach for its cooperation and for the especially important safety efforts of first responders in the Long Beach Fire and Police departments.

Foodservice Technology Center

The Foodservice Technology Center is a one-of-a-kind demonstration kitchen that showcases the latest energy efficient commercial foodservice technologies.  There are cooking demonstrations, side-by-side comparison testing of multiple cooking technologies, and classes on how to reduce the operating cost of your restaurant or foodservice business.  Some technologies showcased include: combination ovens, connectionless steamers, griddles, conveyor ovens, fryers, ice machines and exhaust hoods.

Electric Vehicle Chargers and Solar Canopy

Our Photovoltaic (PV) Powered Electric Vehicle Charging Canopy demonstrates how electric vehicles and solar energy can work together to help create a cleaner environment.

This electric vehicle charging array has four small paddle induction chargers for existing Toyota RAV4 EVs and eight new SAE J1772-2009 standard Level 1 and 2 conductive charge stations that can be connected to most 2011 and newer plug-in hybrid and battery electric vehicle models.

The charging stations are available for the general public and visitors of the Energy Education Center on a first come, first serve basis.
