Long Beach Update

As of 9:13 a.m. today, power has been restored to all customers in Long Beach, however some customers who have been on generator power may experience temporary outages as we connect them to the network as safely as possible.

We thank customers for their patience as we work to restore them to the network as safely and efficiently as possible. We encourage customers in Long Beach to make every effort to conserve use of electricity as we continue to return the system to its full operational capacity.

We have opened our distribution center at 925 Locust at 8 a.m. today to distribute food, ice and water. The safety of the public and our crews remain our highest priority. We thank the city of Long Beach for its cooperation and for the especially important safety efforts of first responders in the Long Beach Fire and Police departments. Get the latest update >

Our Commitment to Diversity and Inclusion

Diverse is Who We Are

Diversity is an integral part of who we are and how we operate. Our employees reflect the rich diversity of central and Southern California, and we play an active role within the diverse communities around us. At SCE, we believe diversity is about capitalizing on the strengths of everyone, empowering people, and promoting the human spirit.

Workforce Diversity: Statistics

Our 13,600+ employees are a highly diverse group, and everyone’s first days on the job here include our diversity training. Here’s a glimpse into our employee makeup in 2014:

  • 56% of our employees were minorities
  • 53% of the new hires were minorities
  • 46% of our elected officers were minorities or women

Cultural Awareness & Outreach

Our Employee Resources Groups are employee-led, voluntary organizations that help promote cultural awareness in the workplace — and help us reach out in the diverse communities where our employees live and work.

How to Apply for Community Grants or Sponsorships

Edison International offers community grants up to $5,000 for non-profit organizations whose programs support our funding priorities. Grant applications are accepted in March and June.

Meeting Needs in Diverse Communities
