Jasper Substation Project
Delivering More Clean, Renewable Energy
We’re committed to more renewable power for California’s future, and the Jasper Substation Project in Lucerne Valley is designed to help. This project will connect new renewable generation projects in the San Bernardino County High Desert to the transmission grid.
Lucerne Valley and San Bernardino County
A new 220 kV substation will be constructed, to include two new transmission line segments that connect to the existing Lugo-Pisgah transmission line and a generation tie line connection to the generator. Overhead and underground lines will be installed along Haynes Road to provide light and power, and the facility will be connected to the existing telecommunications system, which will also need to be upgraded.
Due to the withdrawal of the Granite Mountain Wind Energy Project, which was previously anticipated to be the first interconnection into Jasper Substation, licensing and construction timelines for the Jasper Substation will now be tied to the next projects in queue requesting interconnection into this substation.
The project timeline will be updated when one of the next projects requesting interconnection into Jasper Substation signs a generation interconnection agreement.
