Corporate Philanthropy & Employee Giving

Our parent company, Edison International, offers grants up to $5,000 to non-profit organizations whose missions and programs support our focus areas: education, the environment, public safety & preparedness, and civic engagement.

Most of Edison’s giving is targeted to help meet the needs of diverse ethnic groups, seniors, people with special needs, women, low-income, and gay and lesbian populations – groups that are often underserved.

Four Priority Giving Areas

Giving Area: Education

Edison International, our parent company, supports education programs that emphasize science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) on the middle school, high school, and college levels, including tutoring, enrichment, scholarships, and college-access programs. We also support arts education programs on the middle school and high school levels.

Employee Giving

Through our annual campaign and other employee-led efforts, our employees support causes that benefit young, elderly, disabled, and low-income people in local communities. In 2013, they raised more than $2.9 million in charitable contributions to benefit thousands of nonprofit partners.

Employee Volunteering

Giving back also includes volunteering, and last year our employees and retirees gave 281,000+ hours to help build and unite the communities where they live and work. Our parent company, Edison International, recognizes their commitment to volunteering with incentives such as donations to the nonprofits of their choice.
