More than $19 Million in Community Giving

For more than 125 years, we’ve helped build stronger communities. Using funds from shareholders of our parent company, Edison International, we contribute to organizations that help meet the many needs in our region’s diverse communities. We focus on programs that benefit low-income, disabled, elderly, gay, and lesbian populations, as well as women and ethnic groups. Supporting Diverse Communities

Our commitment includes supporting businesses owned by women, minorities, and disabled veterans. We’ve demonstrated this for more than 30 years through our supplier diversity efforts. In that time, we’ve spent more than $9 billion with these “diverse business enterprises” (DBEs) — and in 2010 became the first electric-only utility to achieve more than $1 billion in annual spending with DBEs.

Public Safety and Preparedness

Experts agree: planning ahead for natural disasters can significantly heighten the ability to manage life-threatening situations. We believe education and training on emergency preparedness is an important way to keep our loved ones and communities safe. We’re the founding partner of the American Red Cross’ PrepareSoCal initiative, a three-year preparedness campaign that encourages all Southern Californians to Get a Kit, Make a Plan, and Be Informed.
