Building a Greener Future Together

Our partnership program provides support to local governments and institutions to assist them in achieving a joint vision of sustainability. SCE works closely with partners to address key issues that are barriers to achieving this vision and develop a long term energy efficiency strategy.

Through the Energy Leader Partnership Program, we provide support to local governments to identify and address energy efficiency opportunities in municipal facilities, take actions supporting the California Long Term Energy Efficiency Strategic Plan and increase community awareness and participation in demand side management opportunities. A key goal in our local government partnerships is helping cities and counties lead by example in addressing energy efficiency first in their own municipal facilities. In addition, the program strives to expand the policies and the energy management capacity at local governments to maintain a long term sustainability focus. We currently have over 100 cities and counties participating in the local government partnership program.

Through the Institutional Partnership program, we help large institutions achieve aggressive demand side management goals institution-wide. The program does so by influencing key decision-making by senior leaders within the institution, whenever possible, in order to create a long term environment that supports this vision. These institutions frequently face significant barriers to energy efficiency including financial, technical and resource issues. By understanding and addressing the hurdles each partner faces, the program is able to effect long term change in sustainability policies, planning and execution. Included in this portfolio are institutions such as the University of California, California State Universities, the California Community Colleges, the State of CA, and the Department of Corrections.

SEEC is a collaboration between California’s four Investor Owned Utilities and three statewide non-profit organizations:
