The Charge Ready Direct Current Fast Charging (DCFC) ¹ program assists business and property owners with deploying the infrastructure and equipment necessary to support electric vehicle (EV) charging stations at their publicly accessible, short dwell time locations. The program was designed to support the adoption of electric vehicles by providing drivers with locations to quickly charge their EVs.

The DCFC program is intended to cover the costs of the utility-side infrastructure and a portion of the costs of the customer-side infrastructure and charging equipment. The rebate amounts paid to qualifying customers for both the customer-side infrastructure and charging equipment will not exceed the customer’s actual costs. The customer will be fully responsible for facilitating the permitting and installation of the customer-side of the meter infrastructure.

• The rebate program offers eligible participants a rebate of up to $40,200 per port (depending on the disadvantaged community² and Fortune 1000 status, see Rebate Summary Table) to help offset the costs associated with purchasing and installing a minimum of two DCFC charging stations.
• SCE covers the cost of installing utility-side infrastructure.
• The customer-side infrastructure rebate offsets some of your cost for the customer-side infrastructure installation.
• DCFC charging stations could attract foot traffic, potentially bringing visitors to your business.

• Participants must submit an online application with detailed site plans, and it must be approved by SCE before any infrastructure work may begin.
• Participants must install at least two (2) SCE-approved DCFC charging stations.
• DCFC stations will be required to include at least one (1)CCS and one (1)CHAdeMO or NACS connector to ensure accessibility and optimize usage.
• Participants must purchase, install, own, and operate the equipment and keep charging equipment operating for at least ten (10) years.
• All DCFC EV charging equipment must be selected from SCE’s Approved Product List (APL) or otherwise approved by SCE for installation under this program, in a quantity approved by SCE.

• Participants are required to ensure all contractors performing any customer-side of the meter infrastructure installation are using the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW)-signatory labor. Construction must be completed by 2027.
• Participants must make charging stations publicly available.
• Participants must provide SCE with data related to charging equipment usage.
• Participants are required to contract with a qualified network services provider from SCE’s Approved Network Provider list to ensure devices have active network communications.
• Enroll in a qualified demand response program, such as ELRP.
