Electricity meters are getting smarter
Our electricity grid is getting smarter, and smart meters play an important role. So far 1 million+ Edison SmartConnectTM smart meters are in place at homes and small businesses throughout the Edison service area. Over the next three years we will replace an additional 4 million older, mechanical meters with new smart meters.
What will smart meters do for you? Smart meters will enable you to monitor your electricity use and costs online as easily as you check your family’s mobile phone usage or your bank balance. By coming here to www.sce.com, you will be able to view your household’s recent usage in hourly increments or your business’ usage in 15-minute increments. New rate plans will guide you in saving energy and money by shifting more of your electricity use to off-peak hours like mornings, evenings and weekends.
With more information at your fingertips, you will be able to reduce your usage during peak hours, lower your electricity bills, and help preserve scarce resources and protect our environment. To learn more about smart meters, visit sce.com/smartconnect.
