Buy a refrigerator that’s one of ENERGY STAR's Most Efficient models, and get a $75 rebate, or get a rebate of $35 when you buy any ENERGY STAR qualified model.
About this Rebate
These refrigerator rebates are part of the Home Energy Efficiency Rebate program. To qualify, you must purchase a qualifying model between May 1, 2012, and Dec. 31, 2012, and install it as your home's primary refrigerator by Feb. 28, 2013.

Qualifying Models
- ENERGY STAR’s Most Efficient: These models use less than 481 kWh, are listed on the ENERGY STAR's list of Most Efficient Refrigerators, and are at least 30% more efficient than federal requirements, as determined by ENERGY STAR specific federal test procedures. - ENERGY STAR: These models are 20% more energy efficient than the federal minimum standard, as determined by ENERGY STAR specific federal test procedures. Review the List of Qualifying Models.

How to Get Your Rebate
Save your receipt and apply online or by mail.
How to Apply Online
Purchase a qualifying model through the Retailer of your choice and save the receipt. You can then complete most of the rebate application online but you will need to mail in our store receipt. You will also need your service account number found on your SCE monthly bill. If your purchase receipt indicates an instant rebate was applied then you are not eligible for an additional rebate.
How to Apply By Mail
Purchase a qualifying model through the Retailer of your choice and save the receipt. Complete the 2012 Home Energy Efficiency Rebate Application (PDF), sign it, and return it to us along with your receipt. Your submission must be postmarked by Feb. 28, 2013.
Recycle Your Old Model and Earn $35 More
Earn $35 if you recycle your old refrigerator through our Refrigerator and Freezer Recycling Program.
The Legal Stuff
The HEER program is offered on a first-come first-served basis and is effective until funding is expended or the program is discontinued by the California Public Utilities Commission. The program is funded by California utility customers and administered by Southern California Edison under auspices of the California Public Utilities Commission. Read the Terms and Conditions (PDF).
SCE does not endorse or recommend any particular retailer. Participation in the Instant Rebate Program is open to all qualifying retailers.
ENERGY STAR® qualified products are identified by the U.S. Department of Energy and the Environmental Protection Agency as being among the most energy-efficient products on the market. If your model is not listed but is an ENERGY STAR® qualified model, please check with the manufacturer or contractor.
Under California law, models of certain types of appliances, for example, refrigerators, dishwashers and clothes washers etc., must be certified to the California Energy Commission before being sold or offered for sale in the state. The Energy Commission maintains a database of those appliances, found at the following link: www.appliances.energy.ca.gov. Before purchasing this type of appliance, please consult the Energy Commission's database to see if the particular model of the appliance you want to buy is in the database. Not all products listed in this database are eligible for utility rebates as they do not all meet the higher energy performance requirements of the utility programs.
