Convert your internal combustion engines fueled by diesel, gasoline, propane or butane, (but not natural gas) to electric motors and receive a discounted rate. In addition, SCE gives you an allowance for line extension work with amounts ranging from $7,500 to $32,395.
The benefits for converting engines to electric motors are described in SCE's Rate Schedule TOU-PA-ICE. The program is | designed to improve air quality in the Sacramento and San Joaquin valleys, areas known to have some of the worst air pollution in the nation.
The program enrollment period began on August 1, 2005 and continues for two years, or until all capital expenditures associated with line extensions have been reserved, whichever comes first.
SCE customers choosing to take advantage of this opportunity will receive a rate discount from their otherwise applicable rates. Line extension allowance maximums vary by wattage, according to the following table:
