Keeping people comfortable is part of your job, but so is controlling energy costs. Fortunately, you can do both! Start with the things that use the most energy, that’s where you’ll find the biggest savings. But don’t ignore small energy users – everything helps.

Tips below correspond to the image on the left:
  1. Replace inefficient fluorescent tube lights with new T5 or T8 high-efficiency ones to save on lighting costs.
  2. Install occupancy sensors in general usage areas so lights only turn on when they’re needed.
  3. Keep your heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) systems running efficiently by performing regular maintenance on filters, belts, coils and bearings.
  4. Install timers on HVAC systems or set programmable thermostats to switch heating and cooling systems off during non-business hours.
