Yes, You Plan: Find the Right Rate
Choosing the rate plan that best fits your lifestyle and energy needs is an important element of a smarter energy strategy at home. Edison SmartConnect® includes new tools that make it easier to manage energy use under your current plan, and may help you lower your monthly bill.
Residential Rate: Less Is More
The most common plan for homes is the Residential Rate Plan (Rate Schedule D), which features five pricing tiers based on electricity use. You’ll start each monthly billing cycle in Tier 1, at the lowest rate per kilowatt. As you reach the next threshold of use, you move up a tier, so using less energy keeps you on a lower rate — saving you money.
Off-Peak Savings Plan: The Late Shift
The Off-Peak Savings Plan (TOU-D-T) is often a good fit for households with the flexibility to adjust electricity use during summertime weekday hours, or that are equipped with renewable energy technology. Unlike the Residential Rate, this plan’s pricing varies by time of day, so if you use most of your electricity during off-peak hours, you may benefit from lower off-peak rates.
