Rate Plans Designed With Business in Mind
SCE offers special plans developed to work with your business’ size and energy needs. Edison SmartConnect® tools and services will help you manage your bill and make the most of your rate plan, whether you’re a boutique business or a growing corporation.
Business 1: Small Business
If your business uses fewer than 20 kilowatts of electricity demand each month, the Business 1 Plan (GS-1) was developed for you. If your energy usage exceeds 20 kilowatts demand three times within 12 months, you are no longer eligible for this plan. Business 1 rates are seasonal, meaning rates are higher during the four summer months when demand hits its peak, than during the winter.
Business 1 Time-of-Use
If your business is flexible enough to use most of its energy during off-peak hours and has little or no need for electricity during summer weekdays, you may want to consider the Business 1 Time-of-Use Plan (TOU-GS-1). This plan is also seasonal, but, unlike the Business 1 Plan, your on-peak rates will be significantly higher during the mid-peak or off-peak times, so you can save by shifting your use to nights and weekends.
Business 2: Mid-Sized Business
If your business uses at least 20 kilowatts of electricity demand each month but fewer than 200 kilowatts demand, the Business 2 Plan (GS-2) was developed for you. If your energy usage exceeds 20 kilowatts three times within 12 months, you will be moved into a Business 2 Time-of-Use Plan. Like the Business 1 Rate Plan, rates are seasonal—meaning higher rates during the summer season—and vary by time of day, but Business 2 customers are also subject to demand charges.
Business 2 Time-of-Use
If your business uses more than 200 kilowatts demand per month, you’re automatically enrolled in the Business 2 Time-of-Use Plan (TOU-GS-2). Under this plan, peak rates (summer daytime hours) will be significantly higher during mid-peak or off-peak times, so you can save by shifting your use to nights and weekends. This rate plan also carries demand charges.
