Home & Electric Vehicle Plan (TOU-D-TEV)
The Home & Electric Vehicle Plan uses a single meter to measure energy used by your entire home, including your electric car. It offers lower rates from midnight to 6 a.m. and higher rates on weekdays between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. This rate plan is often selected by people who are able to shift both their household electricity consumption and their electric car charging to off-peak evening and overnight hours.
The Home & Electric Vehicle rate plan uses a tiered structure similar in some ways to the standard Residential rate plan. This rate plan has only 2 tiers, while the standard residential rate has 5 tiers. With any tiered rate plan, the cost per kilowatt hour rises as more electricity is used within a billing period. With this rate plan, rates change seasonally too, rising in summer and dropping in winter.

Electric Vehicle Plan (TOU-EV-1)
The Electric Vehicle rate plan is designed just for electricity used to fuel electric cars. We can offer you this rate plan if your home has a second electricity meter that’s dedicated exclusively to charging your electric car. We’ll install the second meter at no additional cost, as long as your home’s electrical infrastructure can support it. If you are considering moving to this rate plan, you’ll want to speak to a qualified electrician to understand the costs involved.
On this rate plan, electricity used to charge your electric car is billed at a different rate than electricity used in your home. Lower rates apply during off-peak hours of 9 p.m. to 12 noon, and rates change seasonally. For usage between noon and 9 p.m., rates are higher in summer.

Notes About this Rate Plan
- This rate plan measures your electric car energy usage separately using a second meter. The rest of your home’s energy usage will continue to be metered and billed using your existing meter and will remain on your current applicable rate plan.
- If you opt for the Electric Vehicle Plan, be sure to tell your installer that you’ll require a second meter when you request a quote.

Residential Plan (Schedule D)
You can charge an electric car on your current Residential Plan (Schedule D) or other applicable residential rate plan. If you expect to charge your electric car somewhere other than at home, the standard Residential Plan may work best for you. It can be the best option for households whose electricity usage is high between 10 a.m. and 9 p.m.
The standard residential rate plan has five tiers. As more electricity is used within any billing period, the cost per kilowatt hour increases.
