The following rate schedules apply to customers who register demands between 20 kilowatts (kW) and 500 kW, in addition to those with demands below 20 kW.

Rate Schedule GS-2
Southern California Edison's (SCE's) Schedule GS-2 is designed primarily for medium-sized commercial and industrial customers who have electrical equipment registering demands greater than 20 kilowatts (kW) but less than 500 kilowatts. Typical GS-2 customers include small manufacturing and processing firms, as well as retail businesses, churches, service stations, schools, and restaurants.

Rate Schedule TOU-GS-3
Southern California Edison’s (SCE) Rate Schedule TOU-GS-3 replaces Rate Schedule TOU-GS-2 for medium-sized commercial and industrial customers with registered demand of 200 kW through 500 kW. Customers who may benefit from Rate Schedule TOU-GS-3 have sufficient energy usage during, or can move their usage to, the lower-priced mid- and off-peak hours to offset the higher-priced on-peak energy rates. Typical TOU-GS-3 customers include 24-hour service stations and convenience marts, recreational facilities, churches, restaurants, and motels.

This rate is for customers who qualify for GS-1 or GS-2. It works like TOU-GS-2, but contains a "super off-peak" period, from midnight to 6 a.m., during which demand and energy charges are lowest. This schedule's on-peak hours are from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. on summer weekdays, except holidays (compared to the six-hour on-peak period of TOU-GS-2).

Rate Schedule GS-2 with Time-of-Use Pricing
The GS-2 Time-of-Use rate schedule is designed for medium- to large-sized commercial and industrial customers, generally with a demand of 200 kW or above. Typical customers include manufacturing and processing firms as well as retail businesses, service stations, schools, larger restaurants, and others. All GS-2 customers who receive a state funded interval meter will automatically be placed on the GS-2 Time-of-Use rate schedule unless they choose another applicable Time-of-Use pricing option, such as TOU-GS-2, within 15 days of meter installation.

This rate is available to business customers who own and operate electric vehicles using chargers with a maximum demand of 500 kW or less. These customers can reduce their electric vehicle charging costs considerably by charging between 9 p.m. and noon. Also, while TOU-EV-4 includes demand charges, they are applied only once: to either the TOU-EV-4 account, or to your normal business account, whichever registers the higher demand.

Summer Discount Plan - Base GS-APS
This program offers participating customers credits on their summer season bills in exchange for allowing SCE to install a remotely controlled cycling device on their air conditioner(s). The cycling device permits SCE to periodically turn off, or "cycle," a customer's air conditioner(s) for short periods during the height of the summer season. Air conditioner interruptions are limited to 6 hours per event, 15 events per summer season. The summer season is from the first Sunday in June through the first Sunday in October each year.

Summer Discount Plan - Enhanced GS-APS-E
Applies to commercial and industrial TOU-8 customers, re-opened April 14, 2001. This program offers participating customers credits on their summer season bills in exchange for allowing SCE to install a remotely controlled cycling device on their air conditioner(s). The cycling device permits SCE to periodically turn off, or "cycle," a customer's air conditioner(s) an unlimited number of times and a maximum of 6 hours per event during the height of the summer season. When compared with the Base Summer Discount Plan, the Enhanced Summer Discount Plan provides double the credit amounts, but the potential number of times SCE may turn off the air conditioner is unlimited during the summer season. The summer season is from the first Sunday in June through the first Sunday in October each year.

Optional Binding Mandatory Curtailment Program (OBMC)
This program exempts customers from rotating outages in exchange for partial power reductions from their entire circuit over a longer period. Specifically, customers must reduce power on their entire circuit by up to 15 percent during the entire duration of every rotating outage event. To participate in the OBMC Program, customers must submit a signed OBMC Plan acceptable to Southern California Edison (SCE).

The Demand Bidding Program (DBP)
This internet bidding program offers a credit to qualifying SCE bundled-service and Direct Access customers with a demand of 200 kW and above. By voluntarily reducing power when a DBP event is called, you can lower your operating costs and help alleviate power shortages in California.
If you are already participating in this program, proceed to the sign-on screen.

Time of Use Base Interruptible Program (TOU-BIP)
The TOU-BIP is an interruptible rate designed for customers with at least 500 kilowatt (kW) demand who can reduce their electricity usage by 15 percent of load, with a minimum of 100 kW for each event. In exchange, the customer will receive a monthly rate credit based on the difference between the maximum demand and the customer's selected Firm Service Level (FSL). The TOU-BIP is available to customers who are eligible for service under rate schedule TOU-8 and to existing customers on rate schedule I-6 who complete their annual obligations on those programs.
A new fact sheet will be available soon.
The I-6 Interruptible Service Program provides lower energy and time-related demand charges for that portion of power usage a customer is willing to interrupt when requested by SCE. This rate is now available only to eligible customers with a minimum of 500 kW who are adding new load, or are new to SCE's service territory. Interruption events are limited to 25 events per year and will not exceed 6 hours per day, 4 events per calendar week (defined as Sunday through Saturday) and no more than 40 hours per month or 150 hours per year.
For more information on the I-6 Interruptible program, please visit the I-6/Base Interruptible website.

Critical Peak Pricing (CPP) Rate Option
The CPP rate option may benefit customers who have at least one account with registered demands greater than 200 kW and who can reduce their power use during summer-season peak demand hours--noon to 6 p.m.--during a CPP event. SCE will declare CPP events and announce them to participating customers when either overall demand for power or the wholesale electricity price is approaching extreme levels. For CPP customers, energy prices during CPP events are three to five times higher than summer energy rates at other times, but prices at other times are lower than comparable prices on other rates.

Owners/Operators of privately or publicly owned boat marinas or small craft harbors normally take service from SCE through a single meter under an applicable general service schedule. Such customers are permitted to submeter and bill certain tenants within the boat marinas or small craft harbors for electrical usage. The owner/operator must adhere to the requirements of SCE's Rule 18 when submetering and billing tenants.
