Customized Solutions

SCE's Customized Solutions offer financial incentives for the installation of new high-efficiency equipment or systems. Examples of projects include common retrofits like lighting, HVAC and refrigeration upgrades, or more specialized process improvements and customized equipment replacements. Retrofit or new equipment installations are eligible.

For up-to-date information on policies and procedures, equipment eligibility, new technologies and other news, visit the Online Application Tool's home page and check out the "What's New" section.

How The Offer Works

Incentives are based on the type of solutions installed and the kilowatt-hour (kWh) saved over a 12-month period and the permanent kilowatts (kW) reduction as defined by Database for Energy Efficiency Resources (DEER).  Applicants are eligible to receive up to 50% of the total project cost. Total calendar year incentive payment to individual SCE customers cannot exceed $6 million.

Incentives are paid on a first-come, first-served basis until the Customized Solutions program expires or until funds are exhausted, whichever occurs first. Equipment purchased with the intent of resale is not eligible for the incentives.

For complete offer details please refer to the Energy Management Solutions Guide for your business type or the 2012 Statewide Customized Offering Procedures Manual for Business.

What You'll Receive

You can choose to have your Calculated Solutions incentive paid directly to your business in the form of a check or as a credit toward your SCE bill. You may also designate a third-party payee to receive the incentive. The amount of the incentive depends upon the calculated soluton(s) installed and the energy savings and reduction associated with the solution(s).

Who Can Participate

The Customized Solution offering is open to all non-residential SCE business customers, regardless of size or energy usage, who:

  1. Receive services from SCE
  2. Pay the Public Purpose Program (PPP) surcharge listed on their SCE bills

2010-2012 Incentives Rates

Incentives are based on two factors:

  1. The energy savings resulting from the project, as measured above and beyond baseline energy performance, which includes state-mandated codes, federal-mandated codes, industry-accepted performance standards, or other baseline energy performance standards as determined by SCE.
  2. The amount of permanent DEER peak demand reduction resulting from the project. For more information on DEER peak demand reduction, refer to the 2012 Statewide Customized Offering Procedures Manual for Business.

Incentives cannot be paid on energy savings which exceed the energy purchased from SCE during the prior 12 months. Non-SCE supply, such as cogeneration or deliveries from another commodity supplier, does not qualify as usage from SCE (with the exception of Direct Access customers or customers paying departing load fees for which SCE collects PPP surcharges).

For solution incentives rates, refer to the Energy Management Solutions Guide for your business type, or the 2012 Statewide Customized Offering Procedures Manual for Business.

Easy To Participate
