CANHP Qualified Homes
A home that is qualified under the SCE CANHP is significantly more energy efficient than a standard home. By purchasing a CANHP qualified home, you have all the features you desire in your new home, plus lower utility bills — all the while helping to protect the environment by conserving California's precious energy resources.
Home buying is complex enough without having to know all the details of energy efficient construction. The CANHP encourages you to look for the government backed ENERGY STAR label to easily identify homes that are third-party verified as being truly energy efficient. Talk to your builder about incorporating energy-saving features such as effective insulation, high-performance windows, tight construction, tight ducts, more efficient heating and cooling equipment, and independent testing into your home.
See the program specifications, for more details on these different builder participation options.
The projects listed in the CANHP Home Finder (PDF) are currently committed to the Program. Not all of these homes are currently for sale, please contact the builder for more information.

ENERGY STAR® Home Benefits
Thinking of purchasing or building a new home? Homes that have earned the ENERGY STAR label are certified to be better built, save more energy and increase interior comfort. Southern California Edison encourages you to consider the advantages of owning an ENERGY STAR home:
- Reduced Utility Bills — Spend less on monthly utility bills, thanks to the energy-efficient construction, effective insulation, and features of ENERGY STAR homes. Look for 15% or greater savings on heating, cooling and hot water costs.
- More Value Per Square Foot — ENERGY STAR homes are built in all price ranges, styles and features. Your ENERGY STAR builder will work with you to construct the home you want at the price you can afford.
- Healthier Indoor Air — Breathe easier in ENERGY STAR Homes, built to reduce indoor pollutants that contribute to allergies and asthma. Proper ventilation and sealed ductwork also protect against the build up of moisture and unhealthy air.
- Low Maintenance — You'll gain peace of mind owning a low-maintenance home. ENERGY STAR homes come with durability advantages like energy-efficient windows that reduce sun damage to furniture and window coverings. High-quality heating and cooling equipment will last longer and perform better than standard equipment.
- Comfortable and Quieter Homes — Tight construction and improved insulation not only will keep out excessive heat, cold and noise, but also ensure consistent temperatures between and across rooms. Properly sized heating and cooling equipment also cycles on and off less frequently, which removes more humidity and provides uniform comfort.
- Tested and Certified — All ENERGY STAR qualified homes are certified to meet the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's strict guidelines for energy efficiency, and an independent third party verifies this exemplary performance.
