Convert your internal combustion engines fueled by diesel, gasoline, propane or butane, (but not natural gas) to electric motors and receive a discounted rate. In addition, SCE gives you an allowance for line extension work with amounts ranging from $7,500 to $32,395.
The benefits for converting engines to electric motors are described in SCE's Rate Schedule TOU-PA-ICE (PDF). The program is designed to improve air quality in the Sacramento and San Joaquin valleys, areas known to have some of the worst air pollution in the nation.
The enrollment period for SCE's Rate Schedule Time-of-Use Pumping Agricultural Internal Combustion Engine (TOU-PA-ICE) concluded on July 31, 2007. Customers who did not submit a letter of intent during the enrollment period are not eligible to participate on the TOU-PA-ICE rate.
SCE customers choosing to take advantage of this opportunity will receive a rate discount from their otherwise applicable rates.
