Walton T. "Skip" Farrar

Skip Farrar is the Manager of Business Development within the Economic Development Services (EDS) group at Southern California Edison (SCE). He has been at SCE for over 25 years and has worked in EDS since 1996.

Skip designed and managed an Economic Development Rate initiative in 1996, which retained or expanded 36 major companies in Southern California. Skip was also instrumental in the development of measurement and evaluation protocols for Business Incubation, Venture Forum, Access to Capital programs and individual facility Economic Impact Analysis modeling for SCE.

More recently, Skip has developed a second Economic Development Rate initiative designed to retain, expand and attract businesses in SCE's service territory who would otherwise be at extreme risk for closure or relocation outside California.

Skip is a member of the National Business Incubation Association, California Space Authority (CSA), National Association of Industrial Office Properties (NAIOP) and the International Economic Development Council (IEDC).

Skip's career with Edison began in 1981 in the Conservation Financing Program. Since then he has worked in a variety of organizations within SCE, including Local Governmental Affairs, Regulatory Policy & Affairs, Customer Service, and Street & Area Lighting.

Skip received a Bachelor's degree in Accounting from San Diego State University and an Associates Degree from Orange Coast College.

Prior to Southern California Edison, Skip was an auditor with for Price Waterhouse & Co., Internal Auditor & Controller for WTC Inc., Assistant Controller for Wyle Labs, and Controller for Bromar Foods.

Skip and his wife, Patti, along with their son Austin and daughter Blair live in Aliso Viejo, California.
