Direct Install Program
Your business can save energy, money and help save the environment by participating in SCE's Direct Install Program. The Direct Install Program is part of California statewide initiative to increase participation in Energy Efficiency programs. This effortless program provides smaller business with FREE energy efficient products, and includes free installation and long-term energy savings with no underlying costs.
How The Program Works
An SCE contracted energy expert will come to your facility to help identify energy savings opportunities at no charge.

With your agreement, these approved contractors will install free replacement equipment using new, energy-efficient technology, which will reduce your facility's energy use, help the environment and lower your energy costs.
Items installed are warranted for one year. Program effective until funds are exhausted. The Direct Install Program is funded by California ratepayers and is administered by Southern California Edison under the auspices of the California Public Utilities Commission. Program may be modified or terminated without prior notice.
What You'll Receive
SCE business customers with less than 100kW electric demand are eligible for:
- FREE energy savings analysis
- FREE energy-efficient products such as:
- Fluorescent Lighting — Save up to 42% on lighting costs every month and help lower your cooling costs!
- Refrigeration — Gaskets, night covers, auto-closers, bare suction lines and strip closers to improve the energy-efficient operation of your refrigeration equipment.
- LED Exit Signs — Save up to 95% on your electricity costs by using LED exit signs, saving up to $1,000 over the lifetime of each sign.
- FREE product installation (Projects are limited to $10,000 per site.)
Who Can Participate
Any SCE business customer (nonresidential) with less than 100kW monthly electricity demand and not a corporately-owned national franchise may participate.
What Is Needed
You don't need to purchase anything to participate. You simply need to be willing to have your less efficient products replaced with more energy-efficient products FREE-OF-CHARGE.
Easy To Participate
Participation in the program is limited to times when an SCE contractor is scheduled to be in your community. For more information on when contractors will be in your area, call (800) 736-4777 or view each vendor's Direct Install Community Calendar.
A completed customer authorization form is required for participation and to have an energy expert conduct a no-cost energy use survey at your facility. Completing an authorization form does not guarantee participation in the Direct Install Program. Your business must meet the minimum eligibility requirements described above (see “Who Can Participate”).
If you are completing the customer authorization form after an initial visit to your business and the contractor is still in your area, a completed and signed customer authorization form must also be faxed to the contractor so that an energy survey can be scheduled at your facility.
