SCE and the California Manufacturing Technology Consultants (CMTC) set out to develop a program to help companies implement lean manufacturing practices while realizing energy savings. The result of the partnership is the VeSM Advantage Plus2 tool.

VeSM Advantage Plus2 works by integrating "energy use" in a unique and first of its kind assessment process developed by the CMTC called Value and Energy Stream Mapping (hence "VeSM").
SCE uses this tool to help companies stay competitive both locally and globally by developing and instituting processes to help businesses reduce production costs and lead times while reducing energy consumption.
Using the VeSM model, we identify where you're wasting energy, note ways for you to reduce consumption and suggest methods to help you improve your manufacturing process. Best of all because these suggestions help you become more energy efficient, we're able to subsidize the majority of the program's cost!
