Advice to Remember When Visiting Edison Lands

We hope you enjoy your visit to Southern California Edison's Shaver Lake Campground!  With your help and some common sense we will be able to keep these areas open, safe and usable for future visitors. Please follow these guidelines when visiting:

  1. Comply with all state and local laws.
  2. Gas stoves and barbecues are permitted in areas cleared of flammable material. Campfires and charcoal barbecues are permitted in campgrounds and picnic areas with permanent cooking grills installed. Please put all fires out when not in attendance.
  3. Smoking is permitted in vehicles and areas cleared of all flammable materials for at least 10 feet.
  4. Most areas are open to day use until 10 p.m. Camp Edison and Dorabelle Campgrounds are available for camping and overnight sleeping. Camping is permitted only in designated campgrounds. Night fishing is permitted on Shaver Lake.
  5. Please take all trash back with you. No trash pick up available.
  6. Motor vehicles may be used on maintained roads and selected areas of the lake shore below high water. Please keep off dirt roads when wet, to protect soft roadbeds.
  7. Areas behind locked gates are open to non-motorized day use.
  8. Please do not block roads, gates, or facilities when parking.
  9. Woodcutting permits are available for personal use, details available at Camp Edison.
  10. Overnight boat mooring outside of licensed docks, or leaving items on shore overnight, is permitted for up to 14 nights per year.
  11. Firearm use is permitted in areas with adequate backstops and away from lakes, roads, campgrounds or other recreational use areas. Please do not use trees for targets or backstops. The west side of Shaver Lake to the top of Stevenson Mountain is closed to all shooting, including archery and air guns, by county ordinance.
