SCE’s Electric Transportation Division, through load management and energy efficiency programs for electricdrive fleet operators, helps customers save energy and lower their monthly electricity bills.

At their ISO 9001-registered Electric Vehicle Technical Center (EVTC), SCE tests, evaluates and demonstrates advanced vehicle drive systems, battery types, charging infrastructure and energy storage units for stationary applications. The EVTC is exploring plug-in hybrid vehicle technology as well as conducting tests to understand the system impacts of hydrogen generation, compression, storage and delivery. The EVTC also oversees SCE’s electric vehicle fleet, the largest in the nation, that has driven almost 16 million zero-tailpipe-emission miles, reducing over 8,000 tons of carbon dioxide.
