Reducing the impact of electricity distribution operations
Southern California Edison has been providing safe, reliable, electricity for over a century. Distributing power to over 4.6 million customers throughout 50,000 square miles of central and southern California is an environmentally challenging endeavor. We continuously strive to conduct our operations with an emphasis toward reducing our environmental impact as much as possible.
In addition to our environmental programs, we are always looking for beneficial partnerships to help us reduce environment impact. Some examples include:
- Installation of telecommunication facilities on existing power line towers
- Installation of television, cable, and telephone lines on our distribution poles.
These partnerships facilitate our rapidly advancing communication needs while eliminating the need for installation of additional equipment and structures in our already impacted environment. |
