California, which accounts for about 10% of the entire U.S. vehicle sales market, sets the standard with regulatory, incentive and market-based measures designed to address the impacts of the transportation sector.
Given that the state’s aggressive environmental regulations and other air quality strategies affect how companies do business, Southern California Edison’s Electric Transportation Department is taking a leadership role in helping our customers determine practical and efficient alternative-fuel options – for both on- and non-road vehicles and equipment – to save them energy and money. We also assist our customers by demonstrating and evaluating electro-drive technologies, while addressing the safety, reliability, power quality and electric system load impacts of increased grid-connected electro-drive use.
Such electro-drive use continues to grow in California – already the largest market nationwide for clean electric-powered technologies, with 300,000 on- and non-road technologies in operation today – as the state’s leaders, businesses and residents showcase their commitment to innovative environmental solutions.
